Fried foods can also be a menu option when holding an event to be served to guests. Although simple, fried foods are indeed famous for being delicious.

You can choose various variations of fried foods to make at home, such as tempeh, tofu, bakwan, bananas , sweet potatoes, and others. The key to delicious fried foods lies in the crunchy texture and does not absorb much oil after being fried. However, many people still have difficulty making it. Don't worry, you can try the trick of making fried foods shared by a netizen named Ghaziya.

Through an upload on the YouTube account Ghaziya Warita, he explained that this trick is very simple because it only uses one type of flour. The reason is, in order for the dough to be crispy, sometimes people have to use several types of flour in the dough, such as wheat flour, rice flour, and others.

"I made a dough recipe for all fried foods, only using wheat flour, but there are tips to make them crispy and oil-free," he said, quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube Ghaziya Warita on Thursday (23/1).

So, first prepare enough flour in a container. After that, pour the flour with melted margarine. Ghaziya said, this margarine can work to make the fried dough crispier when fried later.

"The tip is to use margarine, the measurements here are 7 to 8 tablespoons," he explained.

In addition to margarine, there is one more ingredient that can be mixed into wheat flour, namely baking powder. Well, according to Ghaziya, this baking powder is the key to dough that does not absorb oil. Just use a little so that the taste of the dough does not turn bitter.

After that, dissolve the dough with cold water until the consistency is not too runny or thick. The use of cold water is also said to make the dough crispier. Finally, the dough can be divided into two, namely for sweet and savory fried foods.

Each dough can be seasoned to taste. For the sweet one, you can add a pinch of salt and enough sugar. While for the savory dough, you can add ground spices, salt, and flavoring.

If the dough is ready, you can immediately dip the main ingredients to make the fritters, be it bananas, tempeh, tofu, and others until evenly coated with the dough. Then, fry in hot oil and medium heat until all sides are browned. Once cooked, the fritters can be removed and drained.

Distinguishing the right level of doneness for fried foods

Proper doneness is the key to producing perfect fried food. Food that is too raw will feel soft and wet inside, while food that is overcooked will taste hard and bitter. There are several signs that can be observed to determine the ideal level of doneness:

- Even brownish color throughout the surface
- The 'crunching' sound when frying starts to decrease.
- Oil bubbles around the fried food shrink
- The dough no longer emits white smoke.
- The texture looks sturdy when lifted with tongs.

Tips for storing fried foods so they stay crispy

After the fried food is perfectly cooked, the right way to store it also needs to be considered so that its crispiness is maintained. Here are some tips that can be practiced:

- Drain the fried food in a standing position in a perforated container or wire sieve.
- Wait until completely cool before storing in a container.
- Use an airtight container lined with oil paper.
- Store at room temperature and avoid covering fried foods while they are still warm.
- If you want to store it longer, put silica gel in a container to absorb moisture
- Warm briefly in a frying pan or oven if the fried food starts to become soft.

By paying attention to the right level of doneness and the correct way of storing it, fried foods will remain crispy and delicious to be enjoyed at any time.
