Brilio.net - Bakwan is one of the favorite fried foods that is loved by many people because of its savory taste and crunchy texture. It is not surprising that this snack can increase appetite. There are various types of bakwan, such as corn bakwan and vegetable bakwan. Vegetable bakwan is easy to find, especially in street food, and is best eaten when freshly cooked because its texture is still crispy.
Vegetable fritters are made from a mixture of vegetables coated with wheat flour. Because the ingredients are simple, many people make them at home as a snack. However, even though the ingredients and method are easy, many fail to maintain the crispiness of the vegetable fritters after they cool, making them tough. To overcome this problem, some people add margarine to make the fritters more savory and crispy.
However, besides adding margarine, there is a simple trick that can be tried to make the bakwan dough stay crispy and crunchy. This trick was once shared by YouTube user sobat dapur.

First, he prepares the ingredients to make the bakwan dough, namely half a cabbage, 2 spring onions, 1 corn, and 2 carrots. Then thinly slice the cabbage, spring onions, and corn. As for the carrots, the YouTube user chose to grate them so that the texture is thinner. Pour all the sliced vegetables into a bowl.
In addition to vegetables, he also prepared several ingredients for the fine seasoning, namely 5 candlenuts, 3 cloves of garlic, 2 finger joints of turmeric, salt, powdered broth, and pepper powder to taste. These ingredients are then ground. Once smooth, he mixes the spices with the vegetables in a bowl and then stirs until evenly mixed.
"Stir the vegetables and spices until evenly mixed. Don't squeeze it, don't press it too hard. Just stir it so the cabbage doesn't become watery," he said, as reported by BrilioFood on Monday (13/1).

"So here's the tip to make the fritters crispy, add the flour into the vegetable mixture without adding water. While stirring, don't squeeze it so that the mixture remains dry to produce fritters that are crispy and not flat," he added.
