Brilio.net - Fans of Korean food are certainly familiar with topokki. This food made from rice flour is oval in shape and has a chewy texture. Usually topokki is served with spicy and sweet gochujang sauce.

In Indonesia, topokki has become a very popular food. Many people sell it in restaurants or at roadside street vendors. Apart from being delicious, this food can be made easily using simple ingredients.

The ease of making topokki makes many people interested in trying it themselves at home. As did a netizen using TikTok @idkbruhpftthh. Through one of the uploaded videos, he once shared the moment he made topokki 'for fun'. From this intention which was just for fun, the topokki was made so it didn't meet expectations.

As reported by BrilioFood from the TikTok account @idkbruhpftthh on Friday (5/7), this TikTok netizen originally had no intention of making topokki. Through the 1 minute video uploaded, he admitted that he wanted to make cireng . Therefore, he also shows a tutorial for making cireng in the video.

Just like the process of making cireng in general, this netizen mixed water with tapioca flour as the base. Then he also added the ground spices that had been ground beforehand.

Don't forget, there are flavorings sprinkled into the starter mixture. After that, he stirred and cooked it over low heat until the tapioca flour turned thick. As soon as it is cooked, the starter mixture is immediately mixed with dry tapioca flour which has been prepared in a container.

After the dough is kneaded and molded, the cireng is fried in oil. So, until the cireng is cooked, there is nothing strange in this video. The TikTok user even felt satisfied with the delicious and crunchy results of his homemade cireng.

"Still safe 10/10," said TikTok @idkbruhpftthh.

Strange things happened when he started having fun using the remaining cireng dough to make topokki. So, the cireng dough is immediately molded into a long shape like topokki. To get a chewy texture, he boiled the mixture in water.

However, after boiling, the topokki actually looked clear and very sticky to the pan. This TikTok user @idkbruhpftthh is starting to get suspicious about the results. Not remaining silent, shortly after boiling, he immediately soaked the topokki in a bowl filled with cold water.

Unfortunately, even though it has been soaked in water, the topokki actually becomes softer and chewier. Its clear appearance makes netizens misfocus and think that the topokki it makes are similar to eels.

"So cosplay as an eel," he said.

Even though he felt strange, his efforts didn't just stop. He was still trying to fry the chewy topokki using a frying pan filled with a little oil. But because the texture is chewy, the topokki actually sticks to the pan and burns in some parts.

With a long process, the fried topokki still looks like crispy cireng. This certainly makes netizens nervous. However, quite a few people misfocus on the strange appearance of the topokki. This response was expressed directly through the comments column on the video, which has received more than 166 views.

"I think it's a real eel," said TikTok @alyaa.
