GTA San Andreas is a legendary game that is loved by many people. Not long ago, a viral video of GTA action in the real world circulated. This is the work of the gaming theme specialist YouTube channel, Mindplace Studio. They are headquartered in Condongcatur, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This account is run by a man who graduated from STMM MMTC, La Junta, who is worried about the monotonous variety of YouTube content. He and his friends were confused about choosing a theme. Until finally the bicycle company provided sponsorship for the video production. One of the creators, La Junta, explained the initial idea for making a live action version of GTA.
"Actually, I was confused about the idea that was suitable for a bicycle, what is a bicycle? Downhill (game)? That's crazy! Then Ivan said, 'GTA's first mission is to ride a bicycle," explained La Junta.
There is a total creative process in making the video. The choice of shooting location, character make-up and the props used are very similar. The Mindplace team not only produces, they also play the characters in the game.
"The most difficult time was the first time, the four of us were riding bicycles. The problem was that the crew was all there, (appearing) on camera. (The scene) where the car chase was also involved (many of the crew were on camera). So it was finished. The one who was directing "It's also difficult, right? It has to be done together," explained La Junta.
Challenges during production were also felt during the editing process which was full of animation. Quite unique, they also insert cheat scenes that are often practiced by gamers. So that the audience's imagination is increasingly shaped by their work. Now the Mindplace Studio YouTube account has been subscribed to by more than 300 thousand accounts.
