Brilio.net - Recently there has been a lot of talk about allegations that Aoka bread is made from dangerous ingredients. This news has certainly caught the attention of many people, because quite a few people like Aoka bread , both in terms of its cheap price and its delicious taste.

After further investigation, the bread produced by PT Indonesia Bakery Family (PT IBF) is suspected to contain cosmetic preservatives, so Aoka bread can last up to 6 months. The cosmetic preservative that is said to be in Aoka bread is known as sodium or sodium dehydroacetate.

However, PT IBF PR management, represented by Head Legal Kemas Ahmad Yani, provided clarification that the product does not contain dangerous ingredients. This is also supported by Aoka bread which has received a distribution permit from the Republic of Indonesia Food and Drug Agency (BPOM RI).

"All Aoka bread products do not contain sodium dehydroacetate and the expiration date for Aoka bread is not 6 months as quoted by several media," explained Kemas Ahmad Yani, quoted by BrilioFood from Antara on Wednesday (24/7).

Apart from Aoka bread, the public also highlighted the ingredients in Okko bread produced by PT Abadi Rasa Food. Apparently, after going through the inspection process on Tuesday (2/7), Okko bread was found to contain sodium dehydroacetate.

BPOM said that the Okko bread producer did not implement Good Processed Food Production Methods (CPPOB) correctly and consistently, so the bread was stopped being distributed on the market.

"Regarding these findings, BPOM has stopped production and distribution activities. As a follow-up, BPOM has also carried out sampling and testing in the laboratory," explained BPOM.

The test results of Okko bread samples from production and distribution sites showed the presence of sodium dehydroacetate (as dehydroacetic acid) which did not match the composition at the time of product registration.

Apart from that, the Okko bread producer also violated BPOM Regulation Number 11 of 2019 concerning Food Additives. Based on the findings of this bread test, BPOM ordered the Okko bread producer to withdraw the product from circulation, destroy it, and report the results to BPOM.
