Brilio.net - Boiling corn does seem easy. You can just put raw corn into boiling water. But for some people, boiling corn can sometimes be a challenge. Not without reason, it takes quite a long time to reach the perfect level of doneness.
One of the reasons for the long time it takes to boil corn is the thickness and hardness of the corn kernels themselves. Fresh corn usually cooks faster than corn that has been stored for a long time. In addition, the size of the corn also affects the boiling time, large and thick corn takes longer to cook evenly.
To speed up the boiling process, there are several tricks that can be applied. One of the ways was shared by Instagram user @ummubalqishaura. Through one of the videos uploaded, she claimed to be able to boil corn until soft in just 10 minutes.

As reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @ummubalqishaura on Wednesday (25/9), there are several steps that need to be done. First, soak the corn in a bowl of water. It doesn't need to be too long, just soak it for 3-5 minutes to make it wetter.

Next, pour 50 ml of water and 1 tsp of salt into a pan or wok. After that, stir until evenly mixed. So, the water used does not need to be too much, yes. Just enough until the bottom of the corn is wet and slightly submerged.
Once done, then place two corns in the pan or pot. Then turn the corn over until all parts are covered in salt water. After that, cover the pan and cook the corn for 3 minutes.

After 3 minutes, open the lid of the pan. Then flip the corn for 2 minutes. After that, close the lid again and cook for 2 minutes. Finally, open the lid of the pan, then cook until the water reduces for about 3 minutes.

Well, the corn that has been boiled can be drained immediately. The texture of the corn is really soft because it is perfectly cooked even though it is only boiled for 10 minutes. In addition, the color of the corn is also fresher, prettier, and of course saves gas.
