Brilio.net - Fried chicken and grilled chicken become more delicious when the spices are absorbed into the meat. To achieve this result, the process of marinating chicken is often done before further processing. The main purpose of this process is to cook the meat and ensure that the spices are absorbed well.
The general method for frying chicken is to boil the meat with spices for several minutes until tender. Apart from infusing the spices, this process also makes it easier for the next processing stage, be it frying or grilling.
Although it looks simple, braising chicken requires a special technique to get optimal results. The challenge that is often faced is the texture of the meat that is too soft and easily crumbled, or conversely, the meat is still tough because it is not perfectly cooked.
To solve this problem, an internet user named Tini Simorangkir shared a simple tutorial through her personal YouTube channel. Tini applies an alternative method in braising chicken which, according to her, is able to produce chicken meat that is quickly tender but still maintains a texture that is not easily destroyed.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Tini Simorangkir on Monday (30/9), the chicken marination technique is not done by boiling, but using a steaming technique . According to her, steaming chicken tends to be more practical and fail-safe. The marinade is also perfectly absorbed without any being wasted.

First, prepare the chicken marinade seasoning. In the video, Tini uses salt, curry powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, galangal powder, ginger powder, and nutmeg powder. After mixing them together, add water and stir until evenly mixed. To make it spicier, she adds hot lava sauce. Then add enough butter. Stir until evenly mixed.

Once done, add the chicken that has been washed and cut into pieces. Then knead with your hands until the spices stick evenly to the chicken. For maximum results, marinate the chicken and place it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Next, prepare the steamer. Pour water into the steamer pan, then place the strainer. Then also place the marinated chicken into the steamer. Arrange them in a row on the steamer strainer. Don't forget to pour the remaining seasoning over the arranged chicken.

After that, close the steamer and turn on the stove. Steam for 15 minutes only when the water is boiling and steaming. Well, this hot steam will cook the chicken and make the spices more absorbed. Reported from tasteasianfood.com, steaming chicken is the best way to maintain the natural flavor of chicken.
Once steamed, turn off the stove. Then lift the chicken. Now, the marinated chicken can be processed again or stored as a stock of side dishes.

In the video, Tini chooses to fry steamed chicken with spices. For maximum results, it is best to fry the chicken for 10 minutes in heated oil. Fry until crispy and brown. Well, the results of fried chicken that is steamed tend not to fall apart easily, but the texture remains soft.
How? Easy enough, right? You can apply this steaming method when braising chicken. Guaranteed the chicken meat will not be easily destroyed and the taste will be more savory than when the chicken is boiled.
