Brilio.net - Indonesian cuisine is famous for its various dishes that have a spicy taste. For some people, spicy flavors can increase appetite. However, not all Indonesians like the spicy sensation in their food.

Spicy flavors in cooking can come from a variety of sources, with chili peppers being one of the main ingredients. There are several types of chili peppers that are often used, such as cayenne pepper which is known for its high level of spiciness, and red chili peppers which have a milder spiciness. Red chili peppers are often used to give an attractive bright red color to dishes.

Although red chili has a lower level of spiciness than cayenne pepper, some people still find its spiciness disturbing. In fact, for some people, this spiciness can reduce their appetite.

To overcome this problem, there is a technique that can be applied. A YouTube content creator with the account name Depot Lehurrr has shared how to process red chilies so that they are not spicy. Please note that simply removing the chili seeds is not enough to eliminate the spiciness completely.

As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Depot Lehurrr on Tuesday (1/10), the process of cooking chilies also affects their spiciness. According to Depot Lehurrr, boiling the chilies that will be processed will reduce the spiciness of the chilies to the maximum. While frying the chilies still makes the remaining spicy taste of the chilies even more pronounced.

So first, prepare the red chilies that will be processed. Before holding the chilies, you can coat your hands with a little salt. Take enough salt, then rub and spread it on the surface of your hands so that the spiciness does not stick to your skin.

Then cut the tip of the red chili. Press and rotate the chili so that the seeds inside can easily fall out. Then cut the chili into two parts and remove the seeds until clean. Set aside and repeat until all the chilies are gone.

Next, cut the chilies into smaller pieces. Then boil the chilies in boiling water until the chilies are wilted and cooked. This boiling will remove the remaining spiciness from the chilies.

Well, the boiled chilies can be blended directly or used as a mixture for other dishes. In the video, YouTube user Depot Lehurrr purees the chilies with added water. Then he compares the taste with the smooth chilies that are sauted.

"It's really not spicy. While the first try (without boiling), it still tasted very spicy. Even though the contents are removed, if it is not cooked with water, the spicy taste of the chili remains," he said further.
