However, because she couldn't stand the smell, Nani put the durian on the outside of the car hood. More precisely, he put the peeled durian on the outside.

The peeled durian was not just placed there. He packed it first in a plastic container or thinwall (a small box for storing food). There appeared to be three boxes containing ripe peeled durian. The three boxes were packed in clear plastic to be placed on the hood of the car.
The woman also tied it to the car hood so that the durian would not fall easily and fall apart. Even so, she was worried that the durian that was just placed would be taken by other drivers.
