Material:
- 1/2 kg lean beef
- 1/4 kg thick coconut milk or 300 ml
- 10 red onions
- 5 pieces of garlic
- 1/2 ounce curly red chilies
- 1 cm ginger
- 1 cm crushed galangal
- 1 tsp coriander
- 2 stalks of lemon grass, crushed first
- 2 kandis tamarind seeds
- 2 lime leaves
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 turmeric leaf
- Salt to taste
- Enough granulated sugar
How to make:
1. First grind the red and white onions, chilies, ginger, galangal and coriander.
2. Start covering the beef pieces with ground spices, wait until the water is released and the cooked meat is dry.
3. Add thick coconut milk, lemongrass, kandis acid, lime leaves, bay leaves, salt and granulated sugar. Then stir until evenly mixed, don't forget the turmeric leaves but tear them first.
4. Wait until the coconut milk boils and releases a little oil, then reduce the heat.
5. Try to keep stirring so that the rendang doesn't stick to the pan, wait until the rendang changes color and dries out a bit.
6. Remove the rendang and the dish is ready to be served with warm rice.
