The inauguration of members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 period on Tuesday (1/10) at the Senayan Parliament Complex was a historic moment for 580 elected people's representatives. Among the hundreds of council members, one name caught the public's attention because of his very young age.
Annisa Maharani Alzahra Mahesa or familiarly called Icha, officially became the youngest member of the Indonesian House of Representatives in Indonesia. The girl born on July 17, 2001 was only 23 years 2 months 15 days old when she was inaugurated, making her a figure to be reckoned with in the national political arena.
Annisa's success in winning a seat in Senayan was not a mere coincidence. She is the daughter of the late Desmond J Mahesa, a senior politician from the Gerindra Party who once served as the party's Deputy Chairman.
Although relatively new to politics, Annisa has proven her ability by winning the 2024 Legislative Election (Pileg) through the Gerindra Party for the Banten II electoral district (dapil). Her vote acquisition of 122,470 even managed to outperform a number of senior politicians. Not only that, Annisa is also recorded as having quite fantastic wealth for a politician her age, reaching IDR 5,870,445,000 based on a report to the KPK.
