Brilio.net - Coconut can be consumed in various ways. Some just take the water, scrape the meat, or process it into various food and drink creations.
Unfortunately, peeling coconuts is a fairly difficult job. The reason is, coconuts have thick skin and their shells have a hard texture.
Knowing this, a number of people rely on sharp tools to open coconuts. If it has been successfully opened, take the coconut water. After that, don't throw away the coconut straight away. Because the white part of the flesh can still be consumed.
Not a few people scrape coconut meat using a spoon or fork. Without expending extra energy, the coconut meat can be quickly scraped off.
But don't just use a spoon or fork, it turns out there are other ways that can be practiced to scrape coconut flesh. The method was demonstrated by TikTok user @didinchannel01. Instead of using special tools, these gentlemen actually use coconut parts, namely coconut fiber.
Reported by BrilioFood from TikTok @didinchannel01 on Thursday (16/5), cut off the top of the coconut first. Once done, pour in the coconut water until there is nothing left.

Next, cut off the side of the coconut which is usually called fiber. So, coconut fiber can be used as a substitute for a spoon or fork to scrape coconut meat.
Hold the cut end of the coconut fiber with your fingers. Then aim and press gently to scrape off the coconut flesh.

Once it has been successfully scraped off, the coconut meat can be eaten straight away. Even if you only scrape it with whatever tools you have, the resulting coconut meat is not destroyed, you know.

Do the same process until all the coconut meat is gone. This creative method can be practiced when you want to eat coconut meat but don't have a spoon or fork.

Here's an easy way to open a coconut:
1. Choose a ripe coconut.
Choose a coconut that is heavy and filled with water. Usually a ripe coconut has a dark brown color and makes a sound when hit with a finger.
2. Prepare the tools.
Use a machete or large, sharp knife to open the coconut. Make sure the tool used is sharp enough to make the opening process easier.
3. Place the coconut safely.
Place the coconut on a flat, stable surface. If possible, place the coconut on a cloth or towel to prevent it from shifting when cutting.
4. Pound the center of the coconut.
Using the blunt side of a machete or the butt of a knife, hit the center of the coconut slowly but firmly. The goal is to split the coconut into two parts.
5. Open the coconut.
Once it is split in half, use the tip of a knife or machete to carefully separate the two halves of the coconut. Do this by running a knife or machete along the coconut joint.
Make sure to be careful when opening a coconut using a knife or machete, and always pay attention to the direction and safety of your movements. Keep your hands away from the direction of the cut to avoid injury.
