How to choose quality coconut.
To choose quality coconut, pay attention to the following things:
1. Heavy.
Choose a coconut that feels heavy for its size. A higher weight indicates that the coconut still has a lot of water in it.
2. Sound.
Shake the coconut and listen to the sound. If there is a sound of water moving inside, it means the coconut is still fresh.
3. Shape and color.
Choose a coconut that is round or oval in shape with a bright brown skin color. Avoid coconuts that are unusually shaped or have dull colors.
4. Coconut eyes.
Note the eyes of the coconut (three dots at the top). If the eyes of the coconut look fresh and not wrinkled, it indicates the coconut is still fresh.
5. Skin texture.
Touch the coconut shell. Soft, wrinkle-free skin indicates that the coconut is still fresh.
6. Not slimy.
Make sure the coconut doesn't have slimy on the surface, because that could be a sign that the coconut is no longer fresh.
7. Aroma.
The fresh and sweet smell of coconut indicates that the coconut is still good for consumption.
