Brilio.net - Nagasari is known for its soft and sweet taste. In addition, its chewy texture makes this traditional snack popular with many people. Usually, nagasari is served as a dessert or snack at various events. Not only does it pamper the tongue, nagasari is also proof of the richness of traditional Indonesian cuisine that is full of deliciousness.
Judging from the manufacturing process, nagasari is usually made from basic ingredients of rice flour, coconut milk, and sugar. This dough is then filled with sweet banana slices, then wrapped in banana leaves before being steamed until cooked. The fragrant aroma of banana leaves attached to nagasari gives a distinctive touch, making it a special snack.
In addition to the method, there is another trick in making nagasari that is more practical, you know. A YouTube user named Eliza Perkasa once shared a trick to make nagasari without steaming. Yup, this process takes less time, but the results are still soft, smooth, and legit.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Eliza Perkasa on Friday (16/8), the first thing to do is to mix and cook the nagasari dough. Because it is not steamed, the flour dough must be mixed and cooked in a pan to cook it.

To be more precise, dissolve 150 grams of hunkwe flour with a little (from 1 liter) of coconut milk. If you want the cake to last, you can use boiled coconut milk. After mixing, stir the two ingredients until smooth.

Next, add 150 grams (10 tablespoons) of granulated sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a pan. Also add the remaining coconut milk and hunkwe flour mixture while straining. Stir and cook over medium heat until there is a part that thickens.

Now, if the dough has started to thicken, lower the heat of the stove. Then stir quickly until the dough boils and bubbles. At this stage, usually the texture of the dough will become denser and thicken perfectly.
"Don't leave this dough out, friends," said Eliza.

When the mixture is thick and boiling, turn off the stove. Then prepare a piece of banana leaf (to wrap the nagasari). Then, pour the nagasari mixture into the middle of the banana leaf. Add a piece of steamed banana kepok. Then cover with more mixture.

After that, roll and fold the dough until it is evenly covered. Then fold the right and left sides, then compact the dough inside again. Finally, fold the remaining banana leaves to the bottom. After that, wait until it cools down until the dough is completely set. That way, nagasari is ready to be consumed.
Since it was uploaded on Sunday (11/8), the video about the trick of making nagasari has received more than 168 thousand viewers. Who would have thought, there are many other YouTube users who are interested in trying it. In addition to the satisfying results, the trick is also more practical to imitate.
