Brilio.net - Brown sugar has a distinctive sweet taste. Often added to drinks, brown sugar is often processed into syrup so that it is easily dissolved and mixed evenly. This processing not only makes brown sugar more practical to use, but also helps maintain the richness of its natural flavor and aroma.

Making brown sugar syrup is quite simple and can be done at home . Brown sugar that has been grated or cut into small pieces is boiled with water until it dissolves completely and forms a thick liquid. Once done, brown sugar syrup can be used to sweeten coffee, tea, mixed ice, and various other types of drinks.

In addition to just cooking it with a mixture of water, you can add some ingredients when making brown sugar syrup to make it thicker and more concentrated in color. An Instagram user @quinnyquen once shared a simple trick for making delicious and thick brown sugar syrup. After investigating, there are two additional ingredients used.

As reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @quinnyquen on Monday (11/11), the additional ingredients in question are cornstarch and food coloring. These two ingredients have different functions. If cornstarch helps make the texture thicker, then food coloring will make the appearance of the syrup thicker.

Now, how to make it, put 50 grams of brown sugar into a blender. Add 150-200 grams of palm sugar, 300 ml of water, and 2 pieces of pandan leaves that have been tied in a knot. If so, blend all the ingredients at low speed.

Next, strain the sugar water. Then cook over low heat for a few minutes and add a little brown food coloring. If it feels thick and cooked, immediately turn off the stove and let it cool. Well, this brown sugar syrup can be stored in a container as a stock to make it last longer.
