Bamboo shoots or young bamboo shoots are a popular ingredient in many Asian cuisines because of their crunchy texture and delicious taste . Bamboo shoots are also high in nutrients such as fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It is no wonder that bamboo shoots are known to be healthy, especially for diets.
Bamboo shoots can be processed into various dishes, from stir-fries, soups, to mixed salads. The uniqueness of its slightly sweet taste and distinctive texture makes bamboo shoots not only add to the deliciousness of the dish, but also provide interesting variations in the dish.
Because it is often used in various dishes, some people usually store bamboo shoots in large quantities as stock. Unfortunately, storing bamboo shoots carelessly can make this food ingredient rot easily in a matter of days. Well, to make it last longer, you can imitate the trick shared by a former Taiwanese migrant worker named Uni.
As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube Uni mama on Wednesday (7/8), she admitted to storing bamboo shoots by drying them. However, Uni did not use an oven or special tools to dry the bamboo shoots. She admitted to only relying on simple tools available at home.
