Brilio.net - A kwalik pan or known as a crepe maker is a special cooking tool for making various food skins such as crepes, risol, lumpia, and martabak. The name kwalik pan comes from its unique way of using it, namely by turning the pan upside down when cooking.
The technique of using this tool is done by dipping the bottom of the heated pan into the dough. The round shape of the pan will produce a circular skin of food, while the hot temperature on the surface of the pan helps the dough cook quickly.
Like regular pans , kwalik pans also face stickiness issues. Leftover dough that sticks during the process of removing the cooked skin can interfere with the final product, causing the surface of the spring roll or risol skin to become uneven.
The problem caught the attention of a YouTube content creator named Asahid TehYung. In his video, he shared his experience of facing difficulties in removing lumpia skin that was stuck to the kwalik pan, where the remaining dough was difficult to clean from the surface of the pan.
"The dough sticks and is difficult to remove. If you experience the same thing, don't worry, I have some tips," said YouTube/Asahid TehYung.

As reported by BrilioFood from YouTube/Asahid TehYung on Tuesday (10/12), he apparently used one cooking spice, namely candlenut. So, the surface of the wok needs to be rubbed with several candlenuts first. In the video, he admitted to using 3 candlenuts. Keep rubbing until the remaining lumpia skin dough is completely removed.

This rubbing process can also make the surface of the pan more slippery. Not without reason, candlenuts themselves contain natural oils so they can provide a natural non-stick layer on the pan. Now, after the remaining dough is clean and all surfaces of the pan have been rubbed with candlenuts, wipe the pan with a clean, dry tissue.

Now, when you want to use it again, heat the pan first. No need to grease the pan with oil or margarine, because the surface of the pan is already non-stick. After heating, then dip the pan into the spring roll skin mixture for a few seconds. Place the pan on the stove. Once cooked, remove the spring roll skin from the mold. In the video, the spring roll skin can be removed easily.
