Brilio.net - Rice has become one of the staple foods of the majority of Indonesian people. Therefore, cooking rice is a mandatory activity every day. Usually, most people cook rice using a rice cooker, an automatic rice cooker that uses electric power.
Rice cooked in a rice cooker produces satisfying rice. Not only is it perfectly cooked, the rice also becomes fluffier and doesn't burn. Apart from that, its use is also practical and fast, so this tool is always reliable.
But you know what? It turns out that the rice produced by a rice cooker is not always safe to consume, you know. A man named Rifky once proved this. Through one of the videos uploaded to the TikTok account @muhammadrifky372, he shows that rice cooked in a rice cooker can actually give an electric shock.
This started when Rifky tried to use an electrical detector shaped like a screwdriver. Well, this tool called a testpen can detect electric voltage by attaching the iron tip to the surface of an object. When the light in the center of the device lights up red, it means that the surface of the object has electrical voltage.

Reported by BrilioFood from TikTok @muhammadrifky372 on Thursday (8/8), this man admitted that he was just having fun attaching the tool to several surfaces, such as electrical plugs. When the tip is attached, the red light on the device lights up brightly. This phenomenon is normal because electrical plugs definitely conduct electricity.

But a moment later, he tried to stick the tip of the tool into the cooked rice in the rice cooker. Who would have thought, the device would still burn brightly. This indicates that the rice in the rice cooker is powered by electricity.
Even though he was quite surprised, Rifky provided further explanation about this phenomenon. He admitted that in general rice cookers or heating devices that use electricity have electricity as in the video. However, this turns out to be normal and not dangerous for food, especially if consumed.
"But it would be better if you installed grounding on your socket. If you don't want the rice to turn on, you can turn on the test pen," said Rifky.

Apart from installing grounding or electrical protection at the socket, it turns out there are other ways that can be done to overcome this problem. Another TikTok user named Hadi once shared it. Through the TikTok account @handyhadi2, he admitted that one way to do this was to dismantle the rice cooker.
In the uploaded video, Hadi is seen dismantling the bottom components of the rice cooker. At first he thought there was a cable that was loose or peeling, but it turned out that the bottom of the rice cooker contained a lizard that was dead and dry. This is what makes the electric voltage not flow smoothly and instead flows into the rice.

" I thought the cable was loose or peeling, I just opened it, it turned out there was a dried lizard carcass. "That's why the casing body is connected to the heating body, so there is an electric current, " explained TikTok @handyhadi2.
Shortly after it was repaired, he tried attaching a tespen or electrical detector to the cooked rice in the rice cooker. Sure enough, the test pen didn't turn on. This indicates that there is no electricity in the rice.
