Brilio.net - Rice is a staple food for many people in Indonesia. Whatever the side dishes and vegetable menu, it will feel more complete if eaten with rice. Rice is a source of carbohydrates that makes the body full longer.

The most practical way to cook rice is to use a rice cooker . This electronic device is now a mainstay for many people to cook rice. With just one press of the cook button, the rice can be cooked by itself without the need for stirring.

In addition to cooking rice, rice cookers are also often used as a place to store rice. Rice cookers can keep rice warm and free from pests and dust.

However, rice stored in a rice cooker tends to dry out easily. This is because the walls of the rice cooker pan are constantly hot, so that the rice grains that stick to it become dry. The longer it is stored, the rice grains can become crusty which makes the rice cooker pan difficult to clean.

This problem can actually be prevented with a simple trick. By using one tool, you can store rice safely without worrying about it becoming dry and crusty.

This trick was shared by YouTube user Dapur Bu Elly. Through one of the uploaded YouTube Shorts videos, she admitted to only relying on one simple tool to prevent crust from forming. As reported by BrilioFood on Thursday (26/9), the tool is a thin plastic spatula.

So after the rice is cooked, do not immediately open the rice cooker. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes to remove the remaining water from the cooking process. After that, unplug the power cord and not the rice cooker.

Well, so that the rice can last longer, you can cover the rice cooker pan with a clean cloth. It is better to avoid closing the rice cooker directly because later the remaining water vapor will fall back onto the rice. This will make the rice go stale quickly later.

No need to worry if you want to eat warm rice. You can re-insert the rice cooker cable into the electrical socket. Then let it sit for a while until the rice is warm again. That way, the rice is ready to eat.
