Basically, the sound of chewing, biting and swallowing food creates ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) which can provide a pleasant sensation for the audience.
In addition, mukbang often features delicious and varied dishes that the audience may have never tried before. Therefore, mukbang content sometimes arouses appetite. But does the sensation remain the same when mukbang content features unusual food?
Like a content that was shared by TikTok user @ahmadasegaf1. This man named Ahmad Asegaf often shows mukbang content of all kinds of fruit and vegetables around his house. However, there is one unusual content, namely the mukbang of mangkokan leaves directly from the tree.

So, did you know that mangkokan leaves are actually better known as a medicinal plant. A research journal in the Asian Journal of Pharmaceutical and Clinical Research reported from journals.innovareacademics.in, this plant also contains chemical compounds such as alkaloids, saponins, polyphenols, tannins, triterpenoids and flavonoids. Generally, flavonoids are useful as antioxidants to ward off free radicals, while saponins are used as antimicrobials.
However, apart from being consumed as medicine, mangkokan leaves are also often boiled to be eaten as fresh vegetables or cooked into sugar. Meanwhile, young mangkokan leaves tend to be relied on as a cooking spice because of their distinctive taste and aroma. Reporting from poltekkespim.ac.id, consuming mangkokan leaves, either as fresh vegetables or cooking spices, can help overcome hair loss, reduce body odor, and make breast milk flow more smoothly.
