Member Judge Jaini Basir has issued an order to seize the assets of defendant Harvey Moeis . This decision was announced in a verdict read out at a hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday, December 23, 2024.
Harvey Moeis was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp 1 billion. He was found guilty of corruption and money laundering related to the management of tin commodity trading in the Mining Business License (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk from 2015 to 2022.
"The panel of judges is of the opinion that the evidence in the form of assets belonging to the defendant that have been confiscated must be confiscated for the state," Jaini said in the courtroom. The assets will be counted as a replacement for state losses due to the actions of Harvey Moeis and his colleagues.
Jaini also confirmed that the seizure of assets was approved by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) and stated in the indictment file. "We agree with the public prosecutor regarding the status of this evidence," he added.
