As a Video Editor in our video team you will be responsible for editing a variety of scripted video productions and creative video projects. As a Video Editor you will be assigned multiple projects every week, with strict deadlines, and expected to self-schedule time in the office to complete projects in a timely manner.
You will report directly to the Head of Video, but you will be expected to work closely with several other teams (Product, Editorial, etc.) within the business in order to help achieve our own business goals and client objectives.
Your Responsibilities:
Manipulate and edit film pieces in a way that is invisible to the audience
Take a brief to grasp production teams needs and specifications
Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes value and contribution to continuity
Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film
Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects
Create rough and final cuts
Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running
Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industrys best practices to maximize efficiency
Job Requirements:
Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut)
Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
Prior experience working as a freelance video editor or casual video editing experience.
Prior experience shooting personal videos or as a videographer
You have experience producing content for YouTube, Vimeo or other online platforms & websites.
The ability to handle multiple projects per week, and dozens of projects per month.
Take quality notes, document work, and translate client directives into a finalized product.
A key understanding of the client revision process and working through revisions diligently.
