Brilio is looking for a highly organized and intelligent chief editor to lead the Singapore edition of Brilio. This is a full-time position in our Singapore office available to start by January 2016. The ideal candidate will be obsessed with team management and organization and will be passionate and excited about building new businesses from scratch. As Chief Editor of the Singaporean edition you will report directly to the CEO and your key responsibility will be to build our Singapore business from the ground up. We are looking for someone who is highly entrepreneurial and has an exceptionally high sense of drive and mission. The idea individual is someone who has a demonstrated capacity to get things done and can come up with creative solutions to a wide variety of business challenges on the fly. Your Responsibilities:
Take overall responsibility for the editorial performance of the entire Singapore team.
Take charge of building out the Singaporean editorial and business team.
Help manage and oversee day-to-day operations for the Singapore launch team.
Work with management to identify staffing needs and management structure for a growing team.
Collaborate across departments on budget, staffing, and policies.
Plan the general editorial calendar and take charge of overall operations for the Singapore edition.
Help oversee editorial work flow and process, tracking major cultural events, stunts and new initiatives, and special projects.
Provide support and help coordinate large-scale programs and features as we continue to grow.
Coordinate coverage with Brilios other editorial teams.
Assist with other administrative and management duties
Job Requirements:
Experience managing people, content, and budgets, ideally at a startup or other online publication that works with a variety of content and editorial formats.
Fluent in written and spoken English and one other official Singaporean language (Malay, Tamil, Mandarin).
3+ years in an English reporting, editorial, or other writing role
Must possess very strong analytic, strategic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Sense of humor, emotional intelligence, and patience.
The ability to take the perspective of others.
