Brilio.net/en - Nowadays, people really dont draw water from wells with buckets anymore because of the high availability of water pumps. Because water pumps dont allow the person getting water to see the quality of the water, Dimas Arfiantino, a student from SMKN 2 Vocational High School in Kudus has invented a solution that will allow people to determine if a water is murky or not by utilizing a sensor. This water clarity detector made by Dimas called the Water Visibility Detector recently won the second place in the 8th National Young Inventor Award (NYIA) 2015 organized by the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI).
Dimas revealed that when the device is installed in the well, the sensor will work immediately. If the water is clean, the system will work and turn the water pump on to let water flow. Likewise, when the water is murky, the sensor will not work and it will hinder the water pump to flow, explained the 12th grade student majoring in Audio Video Production.
Dimas added that this device is also equipped with control buttons that are capable of specifying the water turbidity. This tool will be useful to prevent the mixing of clean water with murky water in the tank. Moreover, Dimas also installed an indicator on the Water Visibility Detector so that the tool can be monitored if its on or off. If the green light is on, the sensor is working, but if it is red, the sensor is off.
This device received a bunch of positive responses when it was displayed at the 8th NYIA some time ago. Many visitors and organizers are interested in buying and asked about the price, though I havent produced it in large-scale. said Dimas.
After his victory at the competition held by LIPI, Dimas is still striving to improve this device by enhancing its features.
