Brilio.net/en - 9-year Compulsory Education program becomes one of the priority agendas in this country. Unfortunately, for some factors, not all children have the education opportunity.
The factors can be the coercion from their parents to work, the reluctance of children to attend school because they are comfortable with their jobs, and so on. What is clear to this day is that there are still a lot of children being marginalized in terms of education.
This group of young people does not want to remain silent about this phenomenon. In the midst of their busy lives, these young people give their time to join a community called as Save Street Child.
Nizhar, one of the community committee members said that Save Street Child is an organization preparing marginalized children, who have minimum access to education, to be the future generation whose skills are adequate.
Using the accommodations they got from volunteers, this community provides free classes taught by the volunteer teaching team from various societies. These volunteers dedicate themselves to educate and make friends with the children.
The things taught start from reading, writing, counting, to specialized skills and expertise such as making ribbons and headbands that will be sold to add more income for themselves or their families. Said Nizhar to brilio.net, Friday (7/8).
Nizhar has added more classes which once, it was only in Jakarta, and now the class has become larger by the support of the volunteers. The free classes are hold by Save Street Child in Depok, Tangerang, Bogor, and the other 17 cities.
