Using old jars as food containers is an increasingly common practice for many people. This habit is not only economical but also environmentally friendly, helping to reduce plastic and glass waste. Old jars from jam, sauce, or coffee can be reused to store a variety of foods, from dry ingredients such as grains and nuts to liquid foods such as soups and sauces.
By utilizing existing items, you can also save money and provide practical storage solutions. However, despite its many benefits, using used jars to store food also has its own challenges. One of the main problems is the sticker residue that sticks. This sticker will certainly interfere with the appearance and reduce the aesthetics of the jar used.
To remove stickers on used jars, some people usually just pull them off. In some cases, stickers can be easily removed. However, it is not uncommon for the jar layer to become dirty because there is still glue residue stuck to it. If left alone, the remaining glue can attract dirt and dust, making the jar look dull.
Basically, a hair dryer is an effective tool for removing stickers from jars because it uses heat to loosen the sticker adhesive. The heat produced by the hair dryer can soften and melt the glue or adhesive used on the sticker, making it easier to lift and remove it without damaging the surface of the jar. Stickers usually stick firmly to the surface of the jar because of the glue or adhesive used. When the hair dryer is directed at the sticker and turned on, the heat generated will be absorbed by the adhesive. This heat causes the molecules in the adhesive to become more active and liquid, weakening its adhesion to the surface of the jar. The softened adhesive becomes easier to remove without leaving a residue that is difficult to clean. Well, after a few moments of heating, the sticker can be started to be lifted from one end. Because the adhesive has softened, the sticker can be pulled off more easily and will usually come off in one large piece, reducing the chance of the sticker tearing into smaller pieces that are more difficult to remove. This makes the cleaning process easier and ensures that no adhesive residue is left on the jar.
