Brilio.net - Keeping fish at home is quite a fun hobby. Well, usually these ornamental fish are put in aquariums. This container consisting of a combination of glass can beautify the room, you know. The reason is, the appearance of the aquarium with unique fish and decorations in it can refresh the eyes.

Unfortunately, if it is not cared for properly, the aquarium glass will get dirty. As a result, the ornamental fish inside will be stressed and at risk of just dying. Not to mention, the mold and crust that appears on the aquarium glass makes the appearance blurry.

To minimize this from happening, you can clean the aquarium glass regularly. Some people even deliberately rub the glass surface of the aquarium with a citrus solution so that no remaining mold and scale stains are removed.

But it turns out you don't just need to use citrus, because there are other cleaning agents that can be used to clean aquarium glass. YouTube user Aqua One Design demonstrated the method in one of his video uploads. Instead of using citrus, this netizen only relies on one kitchen ingredient to remove mold and scale on aquarium glass. Curious about how?

Effective way to clean mold and scale on aquarium glass.

The first step, first move the entire contents of the aquarium. If it is empty, first wet the entire surface of the aquarium with running water.

"While rubbing it, all the dirt and dust will fall out," he said, quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube Aqua One Design on Thursday (18/4).

If so, throw it away and replace the water in the aquarium with clean water. After that, add one kitchen ingredient, namely dishwashing soap, to it. Then scrub all parts of the aquarium with a dishwashing sponge or cloth.

"Just rub until the aquarium looks clean from mold, scale, moss and dirt stuck to it," explained the owner of the video.

If the crust still won't come off, rub the area with sandpaper. After rubbing for a while, the crust peels off by itself. Next, rinse all parts of the aquarium with running water. Do this repeatedly until the aquarium is completely clean.

How to keep aquarium water clear and not get cloudy quickly.

To keep your aquarium water clear and not get cloudy quickly, there are several steps you can take:

1. Efficient filtering.

Make sure your aquarium filter is large and efficient enough for the size of the aquarium you have. The filter will help remove dirt, food residue, and other substances that can make the water cloudy.

2. Regular water changes.

Perform regular water changes. This helps reduce the concentration of substances that can cause cloudy water. It's best to change about 10-20% of the water every 1-2 weeks, depending on the condition of the aquarium.

3. Routine maintenance.

Clean food debris and dirt from the bottom of the aquarium periodically. This can be done when changing the water. Avoid feeding more than necessary so that food scraps don't rot at the bottom.

4. Appropriate light.

Adjust the aquarium lighting according to the needs of the plants or fish you keep. Light that is too bright can trigger the growth of algae which can make the water cloudy.

5. Control the number of fish.

Don't put too many fish in the aquarium. The more fish there are, the more food waste and waste they produce, which can cause the water to become cloudy more quickly.

By looking after your aquarium and carrying out proper maintenance, you can ensure the water remains clear and the environmental conditions within it remain healthy for the fish and plants you keep.
