Brilio.net - White tofu is a nutrient-rich food made from soybeans. According to greatist.com, consuming white tofu can maintain bone, heart, and skin health, as well as support the immune system so that it is not easily attacked by viruses and bacteria.
Because of its many benefits, white tofu is often chosen as a daily menu. This tofu is easy to process into various dishes, such as fried tofu, stir-fried tofu, tofu soup, or snacks such as tofu meatballs and crispy tofu.
White tofu is easily found in traditional markets, grocery stores, or from vegetable vendors. Usually, tofu is sold in containers or plastic filled with water to keep it fresh and not stale.
However, sometimes the tofu you buy is not as expected. Tofu can have a texture that is too soft and watery, making it easy to fall apart when cooked.
To overcome this, some people usually process this tofu first. The way to process it, the tofu will be steamed in a pan or steamer for a few minutes. After investigating, this steaming process can make the texture of the tofu denser and even chewy naturally.
But besides steaming, there is actually a method that is no less effective. This method was once shared by a YouTube user named Fitrotul Azizah. Through one of the uploaded YouTube Short videos, she admitted to using a simpler trick to process white tofu to make it denser.
As reported by BrilioFood on Saturday (10/26), the first thing to do is prepare the tofu to be processed. In the video, he admitted to using a plastic package of white tofu . When it was first opened, this white tofu looked so fragile and easily destroyed.

Next, remove the tofu from the plastic and wash it slowly until clean. The method is, simply put the tofu in a basin, then fill it with water. Stir it for a while and throw away the water. Then fill it again with water and repeat the washing process until the water is clear.

After that, put the tofu in the pan. Then pour water until the tofu is completely submerged. If so, cover the pan and move it to the stove. Then boil the tofu until the water boils.

When the water is boiling, turn off the stove. But don't open the lid of the pan right away. Let it sit until the water temperature cools down. According to Fitrotul Azizah, at this stage the tofu will solidify and become more chewy.
Once it has been left to cool, open the lid of the pan and drain the tofu. Now, this tofu is ready to be cooked for various delicious menus. Because the tofu has been boiled first, the texture is denser and does not easily crumble when processed.
