Brilio.net - Recently a viral video uploaded of a woman who was really nervous about making cakes went viral. Familiarly called Maddy, this woman shared a video of her failure when making lemon flavored cake dough. After further investigation, when smoothing the cake mixture with a blender, the mixture then exploded and splattered in various directions, up to the ceiling of the house.
This moment automatically made Maddy speechless because she was so shocked. The reason is, the explosion of the mixture also hit his face and clothes. At the beginning, he still didn't know the cause. This incident drew various responses from netizens, not a few of whom felt entertained by seeing Maddy's dough explosion.
"My mom would have thrown me out of the house (If I did that my mother would have thrown me out of the house)," said Instagram @_kashishhh.r, quoted by BrilioFood on Friday (12/7).
"the woman was too stunned to speak (she was silent because she was shocked)," said Instagram @ibnoulhadaddouaa.
"I'm sorry but this is so funny (Sorry but this is really funny)," said Instagram @_linda_2580.
In a follow-up video, Maddy also tells the chronology of the process of making the cake and why the dough explodes. Initially, he put all the basic ingredients for making the cake into a blender, starting from boiled lemon, sugar, to eggs. Then, he also added baking soda. Well, in this process the chaos begins.
"Don't forget to add the baking soda which will react with the acidity of the lemons and explode, later on," he stressed.
When blended, these ingredients still look normal. In fact, Maddy stopped the blender and shook the blender glass to make sure all the ingredients were mixed evenly. Next, he continued the blending process. After it was finished and the blender was opened, an unexpected tragedy occurred.
The mixture from Maddy's blender immediately exploded quite loudly and was thrown upwards. In fact, a lump of dough was seen stuck to the kitchen ceiling. Maddy explained that the explosion occurred because the baking soda reacted with the acid from the lemon. So, what reaction does baking soda produce?
Reporting from thespruceeats.com, baking soda mixed with acid will produce a gas called carbon dioxide. Plus, the mixture undergoes rapid rotation in the blender, so Maddy's mixture can explode.
Even though she was speechless, Maddy didn't give up her intention to make a cake. Finally, he first cleaned his face and the area of his kitchen that was exposed to the dough, then continued the process of making cakes with the remaining dough.
He managed to bake the cake until cooked even though he only used some of the remaining dough. It doesn't stop there, Maddy also shares her lemon cake recipe with additional tricks, so that anyone who wants to try the recipe, won't experience an explosion like she did.
"cool the lemons down in an ice bath completely, blend: 2 boiled lemons (without seeds), 1/2 cup sugar, 3 eggs THEN mix in 1 cup of almond flour and 1/2 tsp of baking soda (Cool the lemons first "boiled in ice water, blender: 2 lemons (seedless), 1/2 cup sugar, 3 eggs, THEN mixed with almond flour and 1/2 tsp baking soda)," he explained.
