Brilio.net - Old-school or traditional frying pans are still often the choice of many people because of their convenience in cooking. This type of frying pan is usually made of high-quality materials such as iron or carbon steel, which distributes heat evenly. Another advantage is its extraordinary durability, making this pan usable for years, even decades if properly maintained.

However, long-term use of the pan often leaves traces of dirt and burnt, especially on the bottom or bottom of the pan. This occurs due to the accumulation of oil and food residue that burns during the cooking process. The crust that forms not only makes the pan look dirty, but can also affect its performance. The crusty bottom of the pan can prevent even heat distribution, so that food can cook unevenly or take longer.

Dealing with the problem of scale on an old-school pan requires special care. Regular, thorough cleaning, such as using a mixture of water and vinegar or baking soda to dissolve the scale, can help keep the pan clean and functioning properly. Some people also recommend soaking the pan in hot water before cleaning it to make it easier to remove the scale.

However, there is another way that is more effective in removing burnt crust on the bottom of the pan. This method was once shared directly by YouTube user @Gianola Vlog. Through one of the videos uploaded, she admitted to only relying on two simple ingredients. Reported by BrilioFood on Tuesday (10/12), the simple ingredients in question are dishwashing soap and sodium bicarbonate.

Well, both of these ingredients will be used to boil the burnt bottom of the pan. So, the pan will be boiled first. Therefore, prepare another pan with a larger size or width than the pan to be cleaned.

Next, place the wide pan on the stove, then fill it with water. Once done, boil it until the water boils. Then add 3 tablespoons of sodium bicarbonate and a little dish soap. After that, place the dirty pan over the boiling water and boil it over low heat for 1 hour.

Well, after boiling, turn off the stove and let the pan soak overnight to make it easier to clean. Once soaked, immediately scrub using wire wool or fine sandpaper. While scrubbing, add dish soap and sodium bicarbonate again. Do this process until the crust is completely removed.

If the crust has been lifted, rinse immediately with running water. This will make the pan shine like new again. Well, an old school frying pan that originally had a black crust will be more comfortable to use. This washing process will also make the old school frying pan last longer, you know.
