A practical solution to overcome gas cylinder leaks without rubber bands or plastic

  13 Januari 2025 12:00

Brilio.net - The stove is a household appliance that is used almost every day for cooking. Because it involves fire, the use of the stove must be done carefully to prevent the risk of fire. Not only the stove part, but also the gas cylinder needs to be considered. Many people experience problems with gas cylinders, one of which is leakage. The signs include a hissing sound and a pungent odor from the gas cylinder. If inhaled, gas can be harmful to health. Some people try to patch the mouth of the gas cylinder with tools such as rubber bands and plastic. However, these tools are elastic and thin, so they are at risk of breaking or tearing when used as a patch.

If you don't want to bother replacing the patch regularly, you can imitate what TikTok user @500anwe did. In his video upload, he showed the condition of the gas cylinder he had just purchased. Unfortunately, when installed, the gas cylinder made a hissing sound and a pungent odor. This was also evident when he flushed the gas cylinder with water. There were water bubbles coming out of the mouth of the gas cylinder.

Knowing this, he immediately took a simple tool. Not a rubber band or plastic, but a small screwdriver.

"A small screwdriver is used to direct the valve," he said, quoted by BrilioFood from TikTok @500anwe on Monday (13/1).

The valve is directed in such a way that it covers the entire mouth of the gas cylinder. Because there is no more space left, the gas will not just come out when the regulator is installed.

This was immediately proven when he flushed the gas cylinder with water again. It seemed that there were no more water bubbles coming out of the mouth of the gas cylinder.

Next, the regulator can be installed to the gas cylinder as usual. Because it is no longer leaking, the gas cylinder no longer makes a hissing sound and a pungent odor.
