Brilio.net - As a student , doing assignments from courses studied on campus is mandatory. After receiving various theories delivered by lecturers in lectures, students will usually be given assignments, ranging from daily, mid-semester, to end-of-semester.

In one semester, a student will usually get 6-8 courses. Imagine if all these courses burden the student with assignments. It is natural that doing them becomes a headache.

It takes regular time management, so that all tasks are completed on time. However, not infrequently, there are also students who are determined to study close to the exam day or what we usually call the overnight cram system (SKS).

This way of studying SKS sometimes makes students stressed . Even so, there are some tips that you can get so that the assignment is not done close to the deadline.

Brilio.net invited Gen Z students to talk about their concerns when doing assignments and managing their time.

Gita, a 5th semester student at Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta, admitted that she had received a lot of assignments from her department. She admitted that initially, in doing assignments, she tended to depend on her mood.

"Usually, sometimes SKS can be completed 3 days before the deadline," said Gita to brilio.net , Thursday (5/9).

When his mood dropped, he admitted to doing assignments with the SKS system. He had to stay up until sunrise, and only went to bed after returning from campus after the assignments were collected.

"If I'm in a bad mood, I take a SKS. I don't sleep until morning, then I sleep after collecting my assignments," Gita continued.

Gita also admitted that doing assignments with SKS made the assignments she worked on seem careless. SKS also affected her assignment grades which became bad.

"The important thing is, the important thing is to get grades. Even though it's bad, it's because you weren't prepared," regretted Gita.

Gita now has tips so that the tasks she works on are not close to the deadline. Starting from strengthening literacy to the discussion process.

"Pay attention, pay attention to what the task is, then don't do it too close to the time. And put aside your mood for now, because this is for the future," said Gita.

Anxiety about the many assignments is also starting to be a concern for a new student. Brilio.net met with Philip Renanda, a new student in the 2024-2025 academic year. Having only been in college for a week, he has already heard stories from his seniors about the assignments that await in the days ahead.

"Many of my seniors have told me that in semester 3 or 5, their assignments start to become overwhelming hahaha," said Philip.

Realizing this, he admitted that he had started to think about creating his own method so that the assignments he worked on could be maximized and not close to the deadline. He admitted that he would create an assignment template so that he could just re-edit it according to the material being studied.

"I thought about making templates like that, bro. Like molds. So what the task will be, I just insert it into the template and then edit it," said Philip, who has only been majoring in communication sciences at Atmajaya University for a week.

Meanwhile, Dhea, a 5th semester student in the same department and campus as Philip, has a super simple tip so that assignments are not late or done carelessly.

"Tips so you won't be late in completing assignments, and get good assignments, don't take credits, right?! It's simple," said Dhea to brilio.net , Thursday (5/9).

In addition to individual assignments. Dhea admitted that she also received many group assignments. Well, the thing that worries her the most when doing group assignments is students who do not contribute to the group assignments. Through her interview with brilio.net , she also conveyed her message.

"There are those who are working, just leaving their names behind. It's a pity for those who are already working, you're just relaxing. Then your grades will be good, but the other grades will be bad, how about that?!" said Dhea.

Even so, Dhea admitted that she complained to the lecturer who gave her a mediocre grade even though she felt she had done her best.

"Please, these students have made an effort. We've written 1,500 words but still got mediocre grades," complained Dhea.

Lastly, there is Rafael Hira. He said that doing the assignment well in advance of the deadline will give you time to correct the assignment yourself, and you can revise it first before submitting it.

"For example, if we speed up the system overnight, we won't have time to revise it. Well, if we do it well in advance, we can check again, see what's wrong, whether there are typos, and in the end our work will be good," said Rafael, Thursday (5/9).

Meanwhile, for tips on how to do assignments well in advance, Rafael has his own way. Managing time and having a plan is the key.

"I usually have a plan. There's not just one assignment that we get, so we determine the plan via the calendar. Whichever assignment has the fastest deadline is the one that's done first. For group assignments, after being given an assignment out of class I immediately meet with my group friends. For individual assignments, I usually imagine first what the format will be, then I note it down, set a date, do it, I'm done," explained Rafael, Thursday (5/9).
