"I realize that using the word 'autistic' to refer to other people is very wrong. This word refers to a serious medical condition and is not to be used as a joke or insult," he wrote in the WhatsApp channel, reported by brilio.net on Tuesday (16/7 ).

Furthermore, Shakira admitted that these remarks were a form of lack of empathy. As a future doctor, he admitted that he was sorry and would use this incident as a lesson in the future.

"There is no reason that can justify my actions. I am very sorry and this is a valuable lesson for me to be more careful in my behavior and words," continued Shakira.

Apart from Shakira, it turns out that there are also Sandy Kristian Waluyo and Nabil who use 'autism' as a joke. Both of them, who were also CoC participants, then apologized. Just like Shakira, they regret their actions.

"I'm here to apologize for my words at that time which cornered certain groups, here I want to explain that I used that term (autism) for myself. Although I absolutely do not condone the use of that word in any context," wrote Shandy in WhatsApp channel.

"I apologize profusely for this behavior and I hope I can become a better person in the future," said Nabil on his WhatsApp channel.
