Brilio.net - Currently, young Indonesians face difficulties in getting jobs. This could happen due to several factors, one of which is because the development of job opportunities is not proportional to the number of new graduates. It is not surprising that the unemployment rate in Indonesia is booming.

This situation was felt by the man who shared his story on the TikTok account @ikehngehe. In his upload he shared his experience in looking for work. After dedicating his time to looking for work, but never finding one, he finally chose to work in the non-formal field.

The man from Aceh has completed his education. After receiving a bachelor's degree , he decided to draw lots and go to Bintaro. The hope, of course, is to get a decent job.

But unfortunately, expectations are not in line with reality. After living abroad for a long time, he never found a job. Finally he came to a decision where he returned to his homeland, Aceh.

"So I went back to Aceh because I was unemployed in Bintaro," he wrote.

This man said his business was big enough when looking for work. He tried all the applications, starting from trying to apply on Linkedin to Jobstreet. However, there were still no results, he was still unemployed.

"When Linkedin and Jobstreet don't work," he wrote.

Not wanting to bother, the man decided to take up informal work. Together with his mother and father, he chose to sell vegetables at the market.

"It's time to start a career selling vegetables with my mother and father," he said.

The man started guarding a traditional market in Aceh. The vegetables sold include chilies, beans, long beans and so on.

"Everyone has their own sustenance given by God," he added.

It is known, according to data from the Central Statistics Agency, that employment in the formal sector has indeed fallen over the last 15 years. Apart from that, the number of undergraduate graduates who immediately get jobs is also decreasing every year. This shows that Gen Z is currently having difficulty finding work.

Many have entered the informal world, including what the man in the video did. In 2024, the number of workers in the non-formal sector will reach 84.13 million people. Meanwhile, there are only 58.05 million formal people.

The man's story managed to attract the attention of netizens. Many say that there is no problem if you have to sell vegetables. Because, currently it is very difficult to get an office job.

"Wow, if everyone works in the office, then who is selling vegetables," wrote the account @dedy

"I sell fruit with my husband...I heard that people working in offices get paid 5 million a month...when I calculated that my income was more than that per month...so I thought about it," said @rinduuuuu_

"Selling vegetables if you get customers from a food stall is great. There will be buyers every day," said the account @banowati.

"I really want to work in someone else's company, but I just remembered that I have to help my parents' business which owns a building shop and brick factory," commented the account @akusuka1kan.
