Brilio.net/en - Amongst the requirements for Indonesias hopeful motorcycle drivers good body odor. Aris Wahyudi is the founder of a new motorcycle-sharing company who has taken a new edge on the competitive market. We took the decision to do an odor test for our customers satisfaction, said Wahydui.
The prospective drivers are lining up for an armpit-sniffing test as part of their selection test. Potential drivers are carefully screened by Endang Ahmad who claims he has already found many types of body odor smell - the ones who have sweat smell and armpit smell mixed we dont give a pass.
Customers will be able to rate one of their 3000 drivers based on smell, with too many negative reviews possibly leading to suspension of the drivers. The app, UberJek, is set to launch in the coming months, and is not affiliated with Uber, the international ride-hailing service.
In a country of 250 million people with a less than ideal public transport system, and a huge influx of tourists yearly, the expansion of ride-hailing services is a no brainer. Although it has caused some legal tension, with President Joko Widodo overturning a ban on these services only hours after the transport minister imposed it just last month.
