Brilio.net - Mopping the floor is a cleaning activity to make the house more comfortable to live in. However, there are times when when mopping, the floor of the house becomes even dirtier and smells fishy. In some cases, floors that have been mopped actually become slippery.

Slippery floors and a fishy smell after mopping can be caused by several factors. Starting from using a dirty mop or an inappropriate floor cleaning mixture. Usually, floor cleaning mixtures that contain too much soap have the potential to make the floor slippery.

So, you also have to wash the mop regularly. If necessary, you can soak it in hot water so that all the remaining dirt attached to it can come off. Meanwhile, the cleaning fluid used can be mixed with other ingredients, such as salt, so that there is no bacterial contamination that makes the floor smell.

However, apart from using salt, you can also use other ingredients in the kitchen. An Instagram user @rumah_shahia admitted that he had used kitchen ingredients to mop the floor. Who would have thought, the floor would be cleaner, not smell fishy, and shine like glass.

Reported by BrilioFood from the Instagram account @rumah_shahia on Sunday (14/7), the kitchen ingredient in question is table vinegar. But apart from that, he also relies on other ingredients such as dishwashing soap and hot water. Well, this mixture of ingredients will make the floor rougher and not smell fishy.

To do this, first pour hot water into the bucket. Then add enough dishwashing soap and kitchen vinegar. Stir all these ingredients until they are dissolved and mixed evenly.

Next, insert the mop you want to use. As soon as you put the mop in, don't lift it straight away. First soak the mop for 2-3 minutes so that the cleaning fluid is completely absorbed.

When it has been soaked for a while, lift it and squeeze the mop. If you use a manual mop that is wrung out by hand, you should mix the hot water with cold water so that the temperature is warmer. After wringing, the mop can be used as usual.

To prevent the floor from smelling fishy and slippery, you should not soak the mop that has been used again. So just after mopping in the first stage, rinse the mop and wring it out. Only then dip it into the bucket containing the cleaning fluid. Do this process until the mopping process is complete.

"So that there is no soap residue that makes the floor opaque, so the floor can be so shiny that you can see it. The bonus is that mice's very sensitive noses can smell the vinegar and will stay away from here," explained Instagram @rumah_shahia.
