Actor Tio Pakusadewo recently revealed his personal experience of dealing with strokes that he had twice. Although doctors advised him to take hypertension medication for life, Tio chose a different path.
Instead of following medical advice, Tio opted for a natural approach. He consumed honey and moringa leaves, and tried to be active every day, especially by swimming.
"Alhamdulillah, I have had two strokes. The doctor suggested buying hypertension medication, but I didn't want to," said Tio when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta.
"I don't take any medicine every day, just honey and moringa leaves. I try to keep moving every day," he added.
Tio said that his first stroke occurred in 2020. Since then, he has not had any further medical check-ups or taken medication as recommended by his doctor. "2020, it's been 5 years. No, I don't take medication," he added.
Although choosing not to take medication, Tio remains vigilant for signs of recurrent hypertension. He maintains a diet and several taboos that must be avoided.
"The body must not be, the stomach must not be empty. If the stomach is empty, it will be like disaster. In the past, my first attack occurred because my stomach was empty," he explained.
In addition, Tio also learned to manage his emotions. He realized that anger and stress could trigger a relapse of the disease, so he tried to be calmer in facing various situations.
"Getting angry is also avoided. However, sometimes there are situations that cannot be avoided. The players are late, many things. But with the stroke experience yesterday, I have to reduce my emotions," he explained.
