Brilio.net - Marissa Haque's passing has left deep sorrow, especially for Ikang Fawzi who has been with her for 38 years. The couple was known to be strong and supportive of each other in their life journey.

Their love story also caught the attention of many people. Especially when remembering how Ikang first fell in love with Marissa.

As is known, their meeting began when both of them were involved in the film Tinggal Landas Buat Kekasih in 1984. Through an interview on a television program, Ikang admitted that at that time he often met Marissa in between filming, but Marissa admitted that there were no special feelings at that time.

Unlike Marissa, Ikang Fawzi began to notice something that impressed him. When most people chose to joke or gossip in between filming, Marissa took the time to pray. That was when Ikang began to think that Marissa was a very special woman.

" He prayed, he recited the Koran. I watched (him) ," said Ikang, quoted from the TikTok account @rumpinosecret_ttv, Thursday (3/10).

" The future. Improving the lineage is also good ," he joked.

Even so, Ikang initially felt that it was impossible to conquer the heart of a woman as beautiful and accomplished as Marissa. He admitted that many other men also tried to approach Marissa. Some of them even came from wealthy or influential families.

" At that time, there were a lot of competitors, most of them had (money). Well, the minister's father, well, this father ," Ikang recalled.

Not only competing with rich people, Ikang Fawzi also had to win the heart of Marissa Haque's father who was once very against their relationship. Marissa revealed Ikang's struggles who at that time was looked down on by his father because he was a rock singer.

Moreover, at that time it was not only Ikang Fawzi who approached and tried to win Marissa's heart. There were many other men who came with offers of luxury.

" Ikang is a really rock singer, in the past his (pants) were torn, he (his arms) were good, he used to show them off a bit ," said Marissa, quoted from Pagi Pagi Ambyar Trans tv.

" My father thought I was fascinated, but he was annoyed. Because he wanted a son-in-law who was a doctor, who was a bit established, then a rock singer came along," he continued.

Not liking Ikang's presence, Marissa's father kept trying to avoid Ikang. Marissa's father even let out the dog when Ikang came to the house.

" The dog was released. Seriously, the dog is fierce ," said Marissa.

However, Ikang's determination did not waver. Despite being treated like that, he still tried to approach his future father-in-law.

" I'm a person who doesn't know myself, I'm too confident. He (Marissa's father) tries to avoid me when I'm around, but I keep watching him, I talk to him, but in the end he gets lazy ," said Ikang.

Ikang also did not only approach Marissa's father. He tried to get support from Marissa's religious teacher by always attending the religious studies held at her house.

" He used to have a recitation, I never went to the recitation, before he came, I was there, taking part in the recitation ," he explained.

Slowly, Ikang's struggle paid off. His father-in-law began to soften when he saw Ikang's piety in praying diligently, and when he found out that Ikang could speak a little French.

" Dad started to melt there ," said Marissa.

" He lived in Belgium as a child, so he can speak a little French, Dad has French blood, he showed off his French, 'oh classy ,'" he continued.

Their love journey ended happily with their marriage on July 3, 1986. They have been blessed with two children and have had a harmonious married life for almost four decades.

Until finally, Marissa Haque closed her eyes forever. Leaving behind beautiful memories that will live on in the hearts of Ikang Fawzi and family.
