Brilio.net/en - If you are new and planning to stay for a while in Bali, be prepared to go to at least one of these stores. Denpasar is one of the capital cities in Indonesia that maintains their small, old and traditional industry. Although there are Carrefour, Hypermart or Food Hall around, the local supermarkets have its own customers and even going bigger. And chances are youll have someone asking you to meet up at one of these stores or suggest you to find something youre looking for there.
I like how Bali government is supporting and maintaining local old retail shops like this, not to mention the so many small grocery shops you can find everywhere in the island. Trust me, you can always find unexpected old treasures other retails in big cities like Jakarta dont longer sellin affordable prices. Here are some of the supermarkets that youll see and go to when you spend more time in Bali.
1. Bintang

Bintang can be the place you can find almost anything, from groceries to holiday equipment, from housewares to art supply. Find more stuff at their second floor (at Seminyak store) and be amazed at what you can find there!

The one in Balangan perhaps is more famous for it also has public water park and become the easiest meeting spot in the area. Nirmala Group is widening its business by also selling building materials, opening hotels and convention centers, and has smaller mart branches in other areas.
