Brilio.net/en - A spiritual destination reinvents itself read the tagline for this years
The Monkey Forest may be getting more crowded in the coming year. New York Times annually publishes a list of top travel destinations at the beginning of each year, and this year, Balis small spiritual town of Ubud made the cut. Although not short of tourists at any time of the year, the small town may be seeing a different crowd in the coming years, where backpackers and soul-searchers may be replaced with luxury travelers who prefer the fancy resorts. Just in the last few months of 2015, several luxe resorts opened in the once tranquil town, including: Kanyon, Goya Boutique, Westing, and Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. The dining scene is also following suit, with Watercress and French bakery Monsieur Spoon having opened in the last year as well.
