Brilio.net - Cassava is a type of tuber that grows in tropical and subtropical regions, including Indonesia. This food is known to be rich in carbohydrates, so it can be a substitute for rice. In addition, cassava also has many benefits. According to healthline.com, cassava contains resistant starch which is good for digestive health and maintaining blood sugar levels. Cassava also contains vitamin C which is important for collagen production, improving the immune system, and many other benefits.

In Indonesia, cassava is often processed into various snacks such as tape , combro, lemet, misro, fried cassava, and boiled cassava. Boiled cassava is often chosen because it is healthier. However, to get soft and cracked boiled cassava, it usually takes about 60 minutes, which is considered wasteful of gas or oil.

It turns out, there is a special trick to boil cassava so that the cooking time is shorter. This trick was shared by a YouTube user with the channel name 'Ruangan Master JP'.

"This food is proven to keep food soft but can save our gas or oil," he said as quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube Ruang Master JP, Friday (8/11).

In the video, the cassava must be boiled for five minutes first. The water must be heated until it boils, then add the cassava pieces that you want to boil. When the cassava is in, just count the boiling time for five minutes. Make sure to cover the pan and do not open it during the boiling process so that the cassava cooks quickly.

After five minutes, turn off the stove, and leave the pan covered for 30 minutes. Because the boiling water is still hot, the cassava cooking process continues. Well, after 30 minutes, the cassava is guaranteed to have cracked and the texture is very soft. Just continue the last cooking process.

You can add pandan leaves, vanilla, sugar, or other ingredients according to taste to make the cassava more delicious when eaten. After that, boil it again for seven minutes in the same way, namely the pan is covered. This last boiling process helps the cassava to be much softer.
