Brilio.net - When confused about what side dish to cook, omelet is often the main choice. This side dish is indeed famous for being delicious and very easy to make. Simply served with rice and chili sauce, omelet can make anyone eat heartily. Although simple, omelet can still be a satisfying and filling menu. That is why omelet is often a practical solution for everyday meals.

If the omelet is made thick and savory like in Padang restaurants, it will definitely taste better. Unfortunately, many people have difficulty making it thick and delicious at home. Sometimes the taste is not right or the shape is too thin, so it is less satisfying. To overcome this, some people add wheat flour so that the omelet looks thicker and fluffy.

Unlike the usual way, a netizen named Puguh has a special trick to make a thick Padang omelet without adding flour. BrilioFood reported on YouTube Puguh Kristanto Kitchen on Wednesday (18/9), he made a thick and delicious omelet with only 2 eggs. The secret is simple, but the results are guaranteed to be satisfying.

With this trick from Puguh, the omelet can remain thick even though only a few ingredients are used. Without the need for additional flour, the egg still rises and tastes more savory. This trick is suitable for anyone who wants to make a practical but still delicious omelet. So, curious about the complete method? You can try it directly at home and enjoy a delicious and thick omelet.

First, prepare a bowl and break 2 eggs into it. Beat the eggs for 1 minute using a fork until smooth and slightly foamy. In another bowl, prepare 2 pieces of tofu and knead them using only your hands until they are slightly smooth. This tofu is the ninja way to make a thick Padang omelet, you know.

However, before mixing the tofu into the egg, the tofu must be seasoned first with curry spices so that the typical Padang flavor will be more pronounced later. You can use instant or homemade curry spices, just 1 tablespoon is enough. After mixing, then mix the tofu into the egg.

"The tofu flavor is gone, but it's thick, bro. Maybe because we mixed the spices at the beginning, so they were absorbed into the tofu mixture," explained Puguh, quoted from YouTube Puguh Kristanto Kitchen on Wednesday (18/9).

Finally, Puguh also added a little rice flour so that his homemade omelet could be crispier when fried. Sprinkle with chopped spring onions so that the omelet is even more fragrant. Stir again and cook the omelet in a small pan with enough oil. Cook until both sides of the omelet are perfectly cooked, then drain and serve.
