Brilio.net - Candles are used to create a warm and brighter atmosphere. However, there is one common problem that is often faced when using candles, namely when the wax melts and is placed on a plate. The hardened wax residue often becomes stiff and sticky, making it difficult to clean. This problem not only makes the plate look dirty, but can also damage the surface of the plate.

As the candle burns, the heat produced melts the wax , turning it into a liquid that drips onto the plate. When the liquid wax cools, it hardens back into a solid form that sticks to the plate. The stiff, sticky texture of the wax makes cleaning a challenge. Trying to scrub or scrape off hardened wax can damage the plate, especially if it is made of a sensitive material such as ceramic or glass.

To overcome this problem, there are several tricks you can try. Instead of melting it again, you can rely on one kitchen ingredient like Instagram user @tari_ari_aja did. Through one of the videos uploaded, she admitted to only using one ingredient. Reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @tari_ari_aja on Tuesday (12/11), the kitchen ingredient in question is ice cubes.

How to use it, simply place ice cubes on top of the melted wax. After that, let it sit for a few minutes until the ice cubes melt and fill the wax layer. This will make the melted wax also soften and easier to clean.

In the video, Instagram user @tari_ari_aja immediately pried the bottom of the melted wax with a knife. Because it was soft, the stain could be easily removed. She then threw away the melted wax and washed the dishes as usual with soap.

Basically, Ice cubes can be a very effective tool to help remove melted wax from glass dishes. When wax melts and sticks to the glass surface, it tends to become stiff and sticky as it cools to room temperature. Ice cubes can speed up this cooling process, making the wax harder and more brittle. By rubbing the ice cube directly onto the melted wax, the cold temperature of the ice will quickly lower the temperature of the wax, changing it from a sticky state to a hard, more breakable state.

In addition to making the wax less brittle, using ice cubes also helps minimize damage to the glass plate. Using sharp tools or abrasive materials to scrape off wax can scratch or damage the glass surface. By using ice cubes, you can avoid such damage because the hardened wax can be easily removed or broken using a softer tool such as a plastic spatula or even by hand.
