Brilio.net - Not everyone can process their own beef at home. The reason is, this type of red meat tends to have a tough texture if it is not cooked well. This can certainly reduce your appetite even though the meat has been cooked in such a way.

As a solution, some people deliberately boil beef before cooking it with spices. Even though it is tender, this process makes processing the beef longer. Not to mention, gas usage becomes more wasteful, right?

To get around this, you can imitate the method for tenderizing beef shown by Instagram user @ratih.166. In his video upload, he appears to rely on one type of fruit when processing his beef.

Easy steps to make tender beef.

Reported by BrilioFood from Instagram @ratih.166 on Tuesday (2/7), one type of fruit used is papaya . It is better if the papaya used is still raw or young. But if you don't have it, ripe papaya can also be used. Peel the papaya skin and cut it into pieces.

Put the papaya pieces in a blender. Puree the papaya then put it in a container or bowl containing the beef pieces. Stir then let the beef rest for a few minutes.

"Marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes," said the video owner.

After marinating for 30 minutes, rinse the beef pieces using running water. Gently check the beef pieces with your hands to make sure there is no papaya left.

If so, the beef pieces can be cooked straight away using spices according to taste. No need to worry about the texture being tough anymore, because it has been marinated using papaya.

Marinating using papaya also doesn't change the taste of the beef. Even the beef didn't smell of anything at all.

"There are some people who don't feel comfortable with the smell. I don't feel the smell like that, sis," explained the owner of the video when answering netizens' questions in the video comments column.

In fact, the content in papaya is considered effective for tenderizing beef. You can also do this trick to tenderize other red meat, OK?

"If I'm not mistaken, papaya contains the enzyme papain, which is a protease that can break down protein molecules into simpler ones so it can make meat tender. You know this was during college," explained the Instagram account @iisantoso in the comments column.
