Brilio.net - Although the 2024 CPNS registration has been opened, several positions are still unpopular. Government agencies that are unpopular in the 2024 CPNS include ministries, agencies, and secretariats.
This is certainly a concern, especially since the various formations provided by the government actually offer interesting career opportunities. However, there are a number of reasons why applicants have not made a choice to fill these formations.
Lack of information about career prospects and benefits of each formation is one of the factors that makes applicants reluctant to apply. Many may not be fully aware of the long-term benefits or self-development opportunities offered by these formations.
As a result, some formations that actually have great potential are actually overlooked by prospective applicants. In addition, apparently there are other reasons why young people have not made a choice. Here is the review as compiled by brilio.net from various sources, Wednesday (4/9).
1. Uncertainty regarding the requirements and qualifications required.

Many applicants feel they do not fully understand the details of each available formation, so they hesitate to make the right decision. The ambiguity regarding the qualifications, duties, and responsibilities in each position makes them worried about choosing a formation that does not match their abilities.
In addition, concerns about the rigorous selection process can also be a barrier, especially for those who feel less confident and are afraid of failing to compete with other candidates who may be better prepared.
2. Changes in work preferences.
Young people like Gen Z tend to look for jobs that offer flexibility, opportunities for self-development, and a dynamic work environment. For them, a profession as a civil servant, which is known to be stable but often considered monotonous with a rigid structure, may not be so attractive. They are more interested in careers that provide room for creativity and personal growth.
3. Values and lifestyle.
Many Gen Zers value work-life balance and recognition for individual contributions as important values. Private sector or independent work is often seen as more supportive of these values than a career in the public sector, which may involve long hours and bureaucratic red tape.
4. Views on working in government.

Some young people may feel that the public sector is less innovative and slow to adapt to change. Therefore, they are more interested in other sectors that are considered more dynamic and provide opportunities to make a bigger impact. This choice makes them feel more excited and motivated in their careers.
5. Prefer to be a businessman.
The majority of Indonesian youth now prefer the business sector (entrepreneurship) as a way to earn income and livelihood. They see entrepreneurship as a way to achieve financial independence and develop their creativity.
By taking advantage of opportunities in local and global markets, young people feel they have more control over their future compared to working under the auspices of a particular company or agency.
6. The influence of technology and globalization.
Gen Z grew up in a digital age where technology has enabled them to access global job opportunities. They no longer feel confined to jobs in a local or national environment. They are more open to the idea of working remotely or even collaborating with international teams.
