Islam Defenders Front (FPI) leader Rizieq Shihab is reportedly going to extend his visa to stay in Saudi Arabia for another one year despite his scandalous cases inIndonesia.
[Hell be] back home maybe later after [the next] presidential election and [when] Jokowi is no longer the president. Yes, so it can be an example for whoever win the [next] presidential election and when Jokowi is no longer the president, police can be more neutral, said Rizieqs attorney Sugito Atmo Pawiro.
Sugito said that this visa extension is a strategy to deal with Rizieq's ongoing legal process.
So that we can anticipate all carelessness done by the police.
Rizieqs visa reportedly will expire on June 12.
But the government couldn't be bothered with the so-called strategy.
The one who has [the right to issue] the visa (Saud Arabia) must realize that his visa is expired [at that moment]. Of course then he [Rizieq] will be illegal in the destination country. We just need to wait for his deportation, there is a cooperation for things like that. So there is no need to think about his visa expiration. Surely, [he] will be handed over to us through the embassy, said the Law and Human Rights Ministrys Director General of Immigration Ronny F Sompie to Jawapos.
Police named Rizieq Shihab and Firza Hussein as suspects of their scandalous sex chats last month.
Rizieq has been 'missing' for weeks after he missed two summons from the police.
Heis now on search list and the police are working to spreadhis picture based on the existing standard operating procedures.
We have spread [his pictures] to precinct police stations. Later from Polres [his pictures will be spread to] subprecinct police stations, said Jakarta Police Spokesperson Sr. Commr. Argo Yuwono.
