MotoGP riders are now in Indonesia to welcome the 15th series of the season which will take place at the Mandalika Circuit on September 27-29, 2024. One of the riders taking part is Fabio Quartararo, the 2021 MotoGP world champion.
Ahead of the 2024 Mandalika MotoGP , Fabio has been actively sharing his exciting moments on social media, especially on Instagram. In one of his uploads, he showed a video of himself jogging bare-chested in the Mandalika village area, wearing only black shorts and black shoes, while carrying a backpack on his back.
" Call me Rocky, Rocky Balboa, " Fabio hopes, referring to the iconic boxer character played by Sylvester Stallone. Fabio's running style is reminiscent of Rocky's famous training scenes, where he trains outdoors vigorously.
"I really enjoy this moment before racing in MotoGP Mandalika 2024," he added enthusiastically.
Fabio also expressed how happy he was with the enthusiasm of the fans in Indonesia. "We are now starting a tour outside Europe, and I always really enjoy this GP. The fans here really support me," he said.
He admitted that he liked the Mandalika track, where he had been on the podium in 2022 and 2023. "We made a step forward in Misano, so I'm curious to see what we can do this weekend," he said.
In addition to Fabio, MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia has also arrived in Indonesia. He landed in Jakarta on September 24, 2024 before heading to Mandalika. Bagnaia said that he really likes sector 2 at the Mandalika Circuit because it suits his racing style and the stunning sea view.
"My best memory is definitely the win from last year. It gave us a lot of motivation," said Bagnaia, who also shared his positive experiences at the circuit.
On the other hand, Indonesia is seriously developing the Mandalika area. The government through InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is working with Dorna Sport to build a MotoGP Museum in this area. The museum, which will be called the Pertamina MotoGP Experience Gallery, is expected to enhance the racing experience in Mandalika.
"This museum is almost 97 percent complete and will be inaugurated on September 27, 2024, two days before the official start of the race," explained ITDC President Director Ari Respati.
