Indonesian Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan is back in the public spotlight. This time, he has drawn controversy after uploading a video on his official TikTok account showing him giving a large amount of money as a gift to his grandson on his birthday.
The video was uploaded on September 26, 2024 and immediately caught the attention of netizens. In the short recording, Zulkifli Hasan or familiarly called Zulhas is seen giving three wads of Rp100 thousand bills to his grandson.
The grandson's reaction, who seemed surprised to receive the gift, further sparked comments from netizens. Many netizens criticized Zulhas' actions because they considered him showing off his wealth amidst difficult economic conditions.
The controversy heated up further considering Zulkifli Hasan's position as Minister of Trade and Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN). Netizens commented on the video upload.
