Dian Pelangi To Rock New York Fashion Week This Year

Dian will promote Indonesian culture through her collections.

Modest fashion designer Dian Pelangi is going to rock New York Fashion Week (NYFW) Spring/Summer 2018.

God willing[we will] perform on September 7. I actually got the news one week ago, and three days ago I just confirmedthat I am going to go [to New York]. I havent even made the clothes. So, there will be only three weeks of preparation starting from today, said Dian Pelangi toDetik.

Dian wants to make Dian Pelangi Prive as the theme of the upcoming performance in NYFW to promote Indonesia as it reflects the countrys typical fabric.

[The Prive collection] accentuates Indonesia so we can also promote [the country] since for me, there must be a message [to deliver] when I bring[my collection] in other countries," Dian continued.

The upcoming New York Fashion Week is not the first time for Dian to display her collections abroad. The designer has rocked different runways including 2009 Melbourne Fashion Week and Couture Fashion Week New York.

Before leaving to New York, Dian is also scheduled to show her collections in Moscow at the end of this month.
