Brilio.net - Many people keep rice stock at home because rice is a staple food for most Indonesians. Some people even store rice in large quantities, such as in sacks.
Rice comes in various types and prices, where better quality usually has a higher price. Quality rice is characterized by a fragrant aroma and is free from dirt such as weevils, worms, and gravel. However, if you have a stock of rice that is full of dirt, don't rush to throw it away. It turns out, there is a practical way to remove gravel and dirt from rice.
Not by selecting them one by one, but you can do a special technique when washing rice. Well, this method was shared by YouTube user Tutun CIREBON. In one of the videos he uploaded, he showed each stage when washing his rice before processing it.
In this way, he guarantees that the rice will be maximally clean because it is free from all dirt. Including gravel. First, wash the rice that will be used. Just rinse the rice twice. Set aside first.

After that, pour enough water into the basin. Then put enough rice into a container that is smaller than the basin.
"Well, just take a little bit and then we slowly soak it like this," he said as quoted by BrilioFood from YouTube Tutun CIREBON on Friday (8/11).

Shake the rice container occasionally. This aims to comb out dirt such as gravel inside. As a result, all the dirt in the rice is clearly visible.
Put the clean rice into a bowl filled with water. Don't forget to strain it with your palm first. Do this process several times, until the rice in the container is gone.

As a result, all that is left in the container is dirt like gravel. Throw the dirt into the trash, then drain the rice in the basin.
"And look, the result is really clean and there are no more pebbles, right?" he explained.
